It might be different story with a stock WRX running the td04 which runs out of puff at 5k rpm vs the vf 22 that his RA gets from the STI models.

Another plan would be to remove some of the fail spec parts from an evo 4 and build one of them instead...
I brought a roughish Evo 4 for $7200k.. which had already had a low mileage evo 6 engine fitted and new evo 9 clutch/flywheel...
since then i havetweaked a few things.. converted it to evo 8 Brembo's, kelford 264 cams, freshly built 20g evo 9 turbo,720cc injectors,flashable evo 7 ecu, mechanical rear lsd, adj suspension, and a certed it..
I was pretty careful on what i brought, and how much i spent though...
The total cost so far is just on $11,500.. i dare say bang for buck it would be fairly difficult to beat as far as a mid 90's 4wd turbo goes..
agree with others though... If I was on the look out for a track car it would be a 98 spec ITR.. to keep running costs in check.
