Cant check my order..?

Postby Vertigo » Thu Mar 29, 2012 11:20 am

so i ordered a head gasket from xyz company a month or so ago to be sourced from the states. all good. waited till today to call them to find out whats happening with it, as my cylinder head is ready to be picked up and i wanted to put some work in this weekend.

got told the guy that took the order was on holiday, back monday, and that he couldnt view the order details, therefore could not proceed with checking its status, let alone sending it out.

is this normal at all?? id be surprised if orders taken for a company are locked down per employee....

I just like the look of the Cometic gaskets.. turned down a TRD one for this. Which do you think I should use?

Cometic gaskets are very good, but can be quite expensive. TRD gaskets are also very good quality.
I'd go with TRD myself. But it depends on application as well. Compression ratio is quite important when choosing a headgasket for a performance build.
TRD comes in 2 thicknesses, and Cometic can be made to order.

yes, im after a 1.2mm gasket for my build. i dont mind paying a bit for the cometic gasket, as im wanting nothing but the best for that area of the engine. if TRD would do the job just as well.. so be it i guess, good to know for the future!

all depends how their systems work, we can view other sales peoples enquiry logs, but alot of place have no idea what other people have been doing.
