ST202 inner cv, where to get them???

Postby hsmidy » Thu May 03, 2012 5:37 pm

Hey guys

I'm in chch and am currently trying to find some inner cvs for my st202 (3sfe manual).

toyota wanted $400 each ...couldnt belive it
part master could do them for $240

does anyone know who can do a good price on them BNT only do the outter cv's and they only wanted $54 each

why are the innner cv's so expensive?

any help would be appriciated

Cause they rarely $&#$% out? Whole driveshaft is like $250 retail from Repco, think there is one for an ST202
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time

Check with our forum Toyota sponsor.
It's been a while but possibly to get the inner from Toyota you need to buy the whole shaft.

As Brad said they rarely crap out, keen to know why you need inners?

cheers for the response guys.

I need inners because they are toast, right side you can grab and rattle around like a #ock in a bucket and the left is starting to do the same.

A whole driveshaft from repco, is that cv to cv?

Do you have ADL nearby? They normally have not so common stuff.

ST185 Shafts are shorter with fatter axles. Inner CVs are very different between ST185 and 205, they are not swappable. In fact nothing is swappable between ST185 shaft and 205.

like brad mentioned repco do sell complete shafts for fairly reasonable prices.

i thought it was fairly handy since inner CVs can be a pain to get.

Yes, I know, I am using ST205 box in ST165.
What I am saying is ST205 CVs cannot be interchanged with ST185 axles.
Eg. you cannot use ST205 inner or outer CV on ST185 axle.
Additionally the ST205 complete shafts are longer by ~20mm than ST185, and cannot be used where ST185 fits. While ST185 axle is ~ 1cm thicker than ST205.

You are after ST202 originally, which means that the ST205 will be of correct length (at least for left side).

Get a price on the genuine st202 driveshafts, i would bet they will be alot cheaper than the actual CV price

I Paid $228 +GST each for the front complete driveshafts for my st205 gt4 from toyota. So id say the price will be around there
