WHY Mazda, just WHY

Mazda RX8 came to be worked on, the engine had very low compression, only 30 psi. The way we were told to fix it from Mazda was we have found out is heat the spark plugs to get off the fuel residue with a gas torch. Inject brake fluid into the rotors to build up compression. Then install the hot plugs into the engine quickly and crank it fast. It blows heaps of smoke, but it will start and run

Only Mazda can be so rubbish!

What that got to do with mazda?

I show you proof but then you go crazy cause you know they would never want you and in the end you will cry in your room all alone. Maybe start with 1 leg female as at least you know they desperate. (correct English?)

brake fluid in a rotary engine is an OLD trick, done it a couple of times myself haha

I know Wankel engines love oil but brake fluid? It works well but it doesn't seem natural.

I do not understand how but it just fixes it. Engine running as good as Wankel can run without cylinders.

As rotarys burn oil by design, the carbon builds up on the apex seals (along with the other seals) to the point where they get very gunked up. Instead of moving (pushed by the spring behind them) in and out of their slot as they spin around the housing they jam in place, meaning they no longer seal at several points around the housing, making the engine hard to start and eventually losing compression.

The brake fluid helps to loosen the carbon buildup on the seals, allowing them to move in and out of the slot again. Also, ATF is another good one I've heard of.. however they're both only really temporary fixes and not ideal, as they aren't that good for the oil control or water seals.

So.. use the right oil, give it a good rev-out often. I don't think turbo rotarys have as much of an issue with this due to higher combustion temps.

Yip, that is my prefered one. Ditching the OMP set up and running premix with 2 stroke oil is the best way of preventing them from gunging up.

Yup, did the ATF trick a couple of times. Smokes like a forest fire, but seems to help. RX8's seem to be bad at this, I think due to being owned by women who dont thrash the bejesus out of them enough. Rotaries need to be revved right out.

Had to do it once to mine, was more due to a lazy battery. If they don't start first go then they have a tendancy to flood which causes the compression loss. You don't need to take the plugs out. There are vacuum ports on the size of the intake runners, just run a vacuum hose into a container of brake fluid on each rotor in turn and crank it for a little bit. Sucks up some fluid, compression is back and away you go.

But yes, smoke.... The old garage was under the house and the flatmate thought the house was on fire :lol:

We have also had a couple in with the same issue. Mostly it's the panel shop next door running them in and out of their workshop without giving it any juice once in a while. Shit things they are.

no, they have to start rusting first, or at least leaking water into the cabin

fogging up so you have to rub a little patch in the windscreen every 10 seconds to see would be a plus too
