I re-drill discs all the time with my Wilwood conversions.
Never had any issues. For me drilling is pretty quick via a CNC and milling cutter.
I would rather drill than to slot the holes.

Using a drill would take 10x longer!

Most discs are fine to redrill, but given there are already 17 holes in that disc I personally wouldn't want to add another 5 to it.

The other holes are only small.

Its not like the disc is free floating to the brake caliper and bolted down with only bolts.
The wheels hold the disc on, the hub central locates the disc to centre.
The rotor hat part doesnt really need to be thick at all.
Most of the race discs use thin alloy hats.

Not allowed both?

Or did you have two spacers for the disk itself somehow...

I had a spacer between the hub and disc and because the centre bore on the disc was 70mm I had a hub ring that was 20mm wide to locate the disc on the hub, and also a wheel spacer onto the hub. As the spacer behind the disc made the disc sit further out on the hub, there would have been nothing to centre a wheel, or in my case a wheel spacer, if that makes any sense

Went and talked to Barry Pope (Local Certifier) and he said it would be fine to re-drill them, soo I took them back to the Engineer and he still refused to drill them, (as he didn't want to put his name on them if they failed and caused an accident/death) which is fair enough. So have to try somewhere else tomorrow morning.....

Also spoke to a couple of mechanics about slotting the holes and they were firmly against it, so won't go there.

Was also recommended to say that the discs are for a race-car, as most places won't want to touch them if they are for a road car, for the above reason...

I recon the engineer doesn't want to do it as he isnt gona be able to charge enough to make it even worth while.

Haha, na I had a few other things for him to do as well, but just told him I would take them somewhere else.

If I'd have known how much hassle and $$$ this brake conversion was going to be I would have just bought a kit off you :D
