Drives ok and has a moderate amount of poke if you plant boot.

Power steering is *utterly* horrid though, I swear the steering wheel was connected to the wheels by a playstation controller.

Can't argue with the economy though, did about 300km and it was using 5.2l per 100km on the journey according to the trip computer. That's rather impressive I thought.

Electric power steering?

Replaced leaky brake cylinders & contaminated shoes on the wife's lancer. Forgot just how much I really, truly despise working on drum brakes.

Went to replace wiper head/blades, screws broke off. Yay for that design Toyota.

Took the only sensible course of action for installing replacements: welder. Job done.

You'll have to rematch Jacob now.
Just finished wireing the new boost gauge in, ripped out the shit wiring I did last time and did it properly. Also wired it so when the boost controler trigger is pushed it changes from white to red/orange.

Drove the living $&#$% out of the Levin, managed to get consistent 14.4k's per litre, pretty impressive given the age/condition of the motor.

Polished my exhaust cam cover

Installed both cam covers and started mocking up intakes and hotside piping with bits lying around the garage.

Almost looks like an engine again. Can't decide whether to weld it all up myself and save $$$ or just buy off the shelf versions of both saving me time. Guess well see.

Gave the new green car its 1st wash while in my ownership.
Got to take it on a proper drive on dry roads.
The boost gauge reads positive pressure and it makes loud noises when I change gears. Sounds like things are working properly. :P

Decided to pull finger and start moving gauges and radio around. Will mean they are easier to glance at when on track.

Part way there

Bought 2 quarts of MT-90 as I read online the W55 takes 1.8 Litres.

Drained gearbox - emptied 1.5 quarts worth then bit by bit I kept going and monitoring the side filler plug for signs the gearbox was full.

Ended up using all 2 quarts - which I thought was odd - until I looked online to find that the gearbox actually takes 2.7 quarts.

And by then it was too late in the day to get another quart - BUGGER.
