Do the fuel pump by pass and you'll be fine. But don't crash the car.

Have a funny feeling thats been done as theres a relay in the boot powering the pump. Think it may be spark related, will cheak the ignitor later.

Decided to give both cars a wash yesterday. Corolla was looking pretty grubby after driving to Wellington on Sat. Also finally got rid of the Limited sticker off the boot. And pulled the drivers seat out and dropped that off at mates to get re-trimmed.

Replaced the main crank pulley, cam pulley, keyway and repaired crank with some Devcon.

I think they were alittle worn out...

Image
Explains why it was so noisy

Image
Explains the loss in power

Image
The keyways purpose is to lock the pulleys into place. It was as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike

Image
Devcon used to fill the chip and hold new keyway in place.

This started by a loose crankshaft bolt. The damaged was caused by three years of neglect. If anything, this is a testament to the strength of a 4AGE. I don't wish to think what horrible forces were at work on the crank with this ill fitting harmonic pulley at 8000RPM...
