Stubborn fuel tank filler hose

Im dropping the fuel tank on my adub, and the only thing left to disconnect is the big filler hose. Its being a right bitch - compresses maybe half an inch, with another inch to go before it comes off. The thing is hard as a rock. Any advice on getting it off?

Ok, managed to get it off by getting frustrated and unbolting the metal pipe that leads to the filler cap, and jiggling that around instead. Whatever works!

Was going to suggest brake cleaner, Its quite good for softening hoses to make em easier to pull off

I would suggest dropping the tank with the large rubber hose on. When the tank drops out the pipe comes off. Well that's how an SW20 works. Makes getting the pipe back onto the rubber hose easier when you put it back in.
