Postby fangsport » Thu Jan 15, 2015 1:17 pm

is the gearbag for the 1N (1.5l diesil) motor specific, or is there another unit ( E/A etc) that will bolt up ?

What is it in? What is the gearbox code on the build plate?

Pretty sure they come with a C150 - could just take the bellhousing off (if bolt pattern differs to e series) and slam it onto any C150 starlet box?

ok, so completely random.
lifted front wheels off ground, foot on brakes , into gear has drive. back onto ground for some full lock action still has drive. but yet it wouldn't transmit any prior, and has done this trick once or twice before. very quiet in it operation and easy enough to get into gear. confused, suspecting something randomly falling out of mesh ??

box is a C153, do they share final drive with anything else ?

Ah so in that case any c150 should be fine - at worst you'll need to swap over the bellhousing section of the casings. The ratios will be different but I don't think its something you'd cry about too much.

clutch feel pretty solid, it would rather stall the engine than slip when the brakes are applied.

CVs are alright? You lose drive if you lose an outer, done it a couple of times.
