Just some 'heavy duty' bearings right? Maybe a bit of JB Weld to smooth it out a bit

Started Corolla.

Drove out of garage, washed and vacuumed. Got some petrol and pumped up the tyres. She has a date with the panel and paint man, mechanic and auto trimmer today.

Made a Turbo Heat Shield.

Used stuff from GSS called teknofibra, made it dual layered. solid stuff facing the turbo with a flexible stickon top layer facing out.

Probably overkill, but I couldnt help myself.

Dizzy is going to be removed.

Friday night was a mad dash to get the exhaust back on to get a WOF. Out in the shed till 11 working, got up Saturday morning to start it and find there was an exhaust leak :x easy fix at least woo hoo
Decided to make the Corolla not look like a dirty filthy sl...... tonight. What a time consuming mission! God know what I drove through but its everywhere and didn't wash off! Bug and tar remover to the rescue! Spent four hours tonight on it and still not finished :|

Mega wing is removed and is no longer effecting local weather.

Who wants to see a photo of a rough 25 year old Nissan anyway

Tried to figure out why the MR2 isn't charging the battery. Tested voltage while car running, just over 12v on a fresh battery. Volt meter in the dashboard is sitting low compared to normal. Diode test appears normal. Fuses are all still good as is the wiring. The only bit I haven't checked is if the charge light bulb is blown. I'm not getting the usual red lights of death.

The only thing I can't test is the voltage regulator. Where is a good place in Wellington to take it for testing?

12V while running sounds a bit low? Shouldnt it be around 14ish volts?

Yes, hence the not charging bit. The voltage is the same with engine off and on.
The alternator is a reconditioned one I got from Repco about 6 years ago. The reconditioned one I had before that only lasted 1 month before a diode went. Then before that the factory one ate the slip rings from being ~18 years old.
