New Import world record - EKanoo/Titan Toyota GT86

Post by Lith »

Last night, 5.77 @ 399kph!!!!! This is also looking like the quickest 1/4 mile time run by ANY drag car using an engine originally from a production car - it's still using the Toyota 2JZGTE head and block 8O

Yeah, very impressive - they've put a billet block in there since and done more 5.7 and 5.8s so it's clearly psuhed it to the limit, but still incredibly impressive out of the old block even if it was probably strengthened to hell.

What ever happend to the McGregor's 350Z that was mean't to be the next one but it didn't seem to eventuate.

For me the more impressive is the Rayglass guys there doing times with equipment that is over a decade old I bet even the Aussie guys with there bigger budgets would be spewing about that.

EKanoo racing basically has a limitless budget as long a s they keep succeeding they'll keep piling the money in.

I see Titan in the US have a 3.6 litre stroker for the 2JZ now.

The 350z is still a work in progress going from what Kevin said on FB. Busy with their business lately I believe. Engines need further development?

It's gone well past the point that I'm expecting to see that any time but it would be cool to see. It's a real shame it didn't come out sometime near when it was first suggested, it really could have made some waves but we're in a different time now. A serious VR38 based build would be pretty awesome

Kevin was talking about still waiting on the engines a few months ago but may have progressed since then. Will talk to him at the next event and see where they are at.
