1999 bz touring corolla wagon 5 speed conversion.

Hi there just got my 20v turbo all together with my 5 speed LSD gearbox and putting it in I noticed the top gearbox mount off the supercharged gearbox is different to the 20v 6speed gearbox so I was just wondering what mount do I need to run will the manual 6 speed gearbox one work on the 5 speed ?

Which mount is it? You'd most likely need an AE101 GTZ supercharged mount to get it to fit.

The top mount on the gearbox to chassis rail. I do have a ae101 supercharged mount as my old 4afe setup in the 1996 ae101 nz new wagon has a welding bracket on the chassis for the mount.

On my bz touring wagon 1999 the mount on top on the 6 speed gearbox which goes to the chassis is bolted there is no welded bracket on the chassis.

By looking at the 6 speed mount two holes line up on the 5 speed the third one will just have to be re drilled I suppose.

I have had to re drill the mount holes like you mention. That was to fit a c156 6 speed into an ae92 corolla. Wasn't planned but the place we got the engine swap from accidentally gave us a free 6 speed as they thought it was a dirty old c56.

Any chance of a bracket from another car fitting? Some ae101 wagons had a 6 speed in them

Yes from what I have read on the net I'll need to re drill it but my worry is even though the two bolt work and the third will once I drill it will the mount be straight ? Or off on some kack angle which will put everything out.

I have both a 6speed gearbox from my bz wagon and the 5 speed LSD from my 4afte ae100 wagon which got crashed into why I decided to put the two together and make a powerful 20v turbo.

So I have both mounts from both gearboxes but yeah it looks like the 6 speed top mount will work on the 5 speed once I modify it but like I said before my concern is will it be straight I just wanted some guidance if anyone else has modded this before I got ruining my 6 speed mount

You will have to fabricate or mash and weld your existing plate to accept the mount.
You can redrill two bolts, but for third one you will have to either settle for open hole (fork/U) or welding some metal to close the hole.

If someone with an ae101 or ae100 with an LSD gearbox could measure the distance from the mount to the front chassis rail so I could compare mine ?
