Overheating problem

Post by oldskoolmr2 »

My lil useless AW10 randomly overheated last night, it still had water in radiator n there was no leaks as there was still pressure on the radiator cap. i think it could be those big fans arent going.. how could i check tht?

also can a 4age bolt into my aw10 without much hassle?

to check your fans turn the car on let it get up to temp an wait and see if they come on if the temp rises over normal and they dont come on then you know you have a problem there... but could well be your head gasket as they wont always put water in the oil take it to a garage and get them to pressure test it

the aw10 motor is the 3a isnt it?
if so, it should bolt up to the mounts fine. then you will have to do the loom ecu as well.
Although not as exciting a motor, imo, i'd keek the 3a in it- aw's are getting a little rarer, and the aw10 is even harder to come by. Just a 2c opinion anyway
Cant believe im still a member here.

if you've got an aw10 stick it in a garage for a few years, if you want more power find a cheap aw11
