I've decided I need a gearbox with LSD, so was wondering if I can do this without any dramas? or would I also needs the BZ-R ecu etC?

I've done it in my AE101, the only thing I had to modify is the left gearbox mount (bend/drill holes)...Althou you might have slight problem shifting in reverse (too hard - not enough left right movevent of shifter)

not all the 6 speed boxes have lsd.
Apparantly the BZ-V comes with an LSD 5 speed.

You dont need the ecu to run the 6 speed but there is a difference between the 5 & 6 speed, the 6 speed has premature rev cut points in 1 st and 6th gear and slightly changed timing curves for a split second after lift throttle and reapplication to ease and protect the 6 speed's synchro and reduce driveline lash.

Yeh, and they are common.... ive only seen about 3 in dunedin, inc mine (well, my old one now i guess). NOT,

but there are about 4,000 Bz-G's

some Bz-g's had lsd's too though......

Don't presume this to be the case. All written matter might indicate that BZ-V's have LSD but we've had 3, that I can recall, in stock, none of which had LSD's.
It would be easy to suggest that they've all had gearbox changes at some stage but I think that's a bit too much of a coincidence.

As with everything, check it out before parting with your money.

to confirm if an ae111 was fitted with an lsd from factory look at the trans code itll be c160-something-c if its non lsd itll end in an "a"

2nd hand BZ-R 6speeds go for $800ish plus. finding one can be the tricky part.

Have done this so here are the pitfalls

Top box mount needs butchering,
You will need the linkages AND shifter pedastal with the 6speed, 5 speed items do not work, i have tried. prepare for fun getting the linkages out from under the dash! think that is all, good luck

hmm strange, I guess AE111 5speed gear shifter is shorter then on AE101, It works on mine (well Reverse is a bit pain)... What is exactly difference between 5speed linkages and 6 speed linkages?

The retaining clips holding linkages into pedistal dont line up and the 5 speed didnt have enuf left to right swing to hook reverse

you could expect to pay upwards of 2g's - they aren't very common and they can charge what ever they want really.

yeah, reverse is a bit pain. it was barely engaging in myAE101 trueno, had to bend the lever on gearbox side to shorten left to right movement...
