Hey all I dont know that much about cars but I have a 96 toyota trueno sprinter 4a-fe 1600cc, 16 valve silvertop. just wanted to ask what anyone thinks i could do in terms of modification to make it perform better, but still be fairly economical.
any help would be great

easiest mods would probably be 2.25" exhaust, 4-2-1 extractors and decent pod filter with a cold air box

Not if it has 16 valves it isnt.
In which case, I say.... Dont bother.
Sell it, and buy one with a 4age... You'll get an Instant 50-60hp gain!
Cant get much easier than that.

Damn, you beat me to it
So is it a 4A-FE or a 4A-GE? Silvertop or not?
If its a 4A-FE.... Then I'd suggest dropping in a 4A-GE for starters. That or sell and buy one with a Silvertop or 4A-GZE (Supercharged) engine
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

yes it would untill you get to excited and put a piston through the bonnet or a rod through the block

The Game wrote:how are the 4a-gze in terms of economy, the price of it isnt really a factor
Economy depends entirely on how heavy your right foot is.
The GZE in stock form when just generally driving shouldn't give you too bad km/l. I'd suspect it would be about on par with what a Blacktop would give you maybe a slight bit less but I don't suspect much.
