i foudn this on trade me wat do u people think ? i m not so sure thats why i ask
if this is true i m starting to think my GT4 st205 is a peice of shit LOL (jks)
150kW? You would get that out of a Beams engined one (which this isn't), but not at the wheels, and the only gt4s it's going to be faster than are stock st165 and st185s
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
ahahaha what a crock of !%$@. theyre slow, i bet one of those cars when my Gti rolla was NA, only 100 kw at thew wheels ahaha. and i had and extra person
LOL
Not sure about that curren, but mine has a double plate and a short shift close ratio box... They were in it when it was imported... that doesnt help the torque, but it does make it a lil quicker...
1996 Curren - On Tardme
1992.5 EG Civic - 101kw@wheels. WTB 4x100 6.5in wide rims.
i think they feel fast but they dun go fast ~ coz i have a 2.2L manual SSII as well as a GT4 st205 when u ar traveling at around 50 u feel like u ar going 80 while on a GT4 u go around 80 u feel like u ar doing 50 i bet that guy never looked at the speedmeter LOL

Not quite on topic here but I would like to point out that there's no such thing as a true 2.2litre SS2. It is in fact a Celica GT with a 5s-fe engine as the SS2 came with the 2litre 3s-ge engine. the 2.2 litre 5s-fe motor produces 135 horsepower at peak while the 2.0 litre 3s-ge produces 180 Bhp at peak.
As for the topic, it would be difficult for any N/a ports car to keep up with a turbo sports car unless it had some MAJOR work done to it. In which case you'd be better off buying a turboed sports car and doing some minor mods to it thereby gaining more performance and generaly longer lifespan and reliability. (well thats my opinion anyway)
Glenn AKA Celica RA45 is making 180kw at the wheels, with a 3SGE...
Which has a rather nice torque curve too, considering.
Enough to give a few turbo engines more than a scare, that's for sure.
That isnt to say that it hasnt had an obscene amount of money/work/time spent on it however....
You could make the same power (if not more, and with far more torque) for MUCH less with a turbo engine.

Pretty sure that the 2.2 Celica was the only ST202 version available as New Zealand new (may have been a few BEAMS powered cars later on). Also, that 's the same model that the US market received.
