Qualitat 'modellista' dash for Altezza 6MT

Post by Ard Righ »

I was wondering if anyone has heard of any of these as spare parts anywhere in NZ ?

Or whether it's at all possible to get one from overseas without costing an arm and a leg ?

I want to get one fitted to my car, but they seem to be ghost items, unless you're buddy buddy with someone in Japan :(

They pop up on trademe every now and then, as do the TRD ones.. Just be patient and you'll find something that wont cost an arm and a leg

Or you can try Mr.Revhead for the TRD Dash but I suppose if you don't want to spend big $$$$$ you'd be better off waiting.

These pics from an RS200 Qualitat Altezza

It does the 240Km/hr speedo, just like the TRD version. But it also has the newer model of display in the bottom right corner. It's pretty much like the 2001+ standard Altezza speedo, but with the 240Km/hr top speed, rather than the 180Km/hr that is JDM standard.

It only appears in the Qualitat version of the cars, and mostly RS200-Z Qualitats that I can see. So it's fairly hard to get as you would expect :)

Quick question, has anyone replaced a dash in a tezza before ?

I'm curious on the process of putting an upgraded dash, like TRD etc. If I got one 2nd hand, would it make any different how many Kms the dash had done in the previous car ? Or would it just come set to 0Kms ?

I'm not sure how the dash stores the odo reading, whether replacing it would cause much work in the swapover :?

I replaced my factory one with TRD one..

The ODO value is stored in the dash unit, so for example if i had 131,XXXkms on the factory dash, that value would stay with the factory dash.

If you buy a new aftermarket dash, the ODO would start at zero. or if you buy second hand, like i did, you'd have whatever kms the dash has on it... (in my case it was about 28.000kms)

Can cause a hassle at wof time, but just take down readings of what your original odo had, and where your replacement one started, and work out what your kms should be and tell your wof inspector.

Easy to install, just undo 3 screws and it pops out...

Cheers man.

Question, if I got a new dash, would it be worth taking it somewhere to get the odo set correctly, and certified ? Or is that just extra cost for nothing ?

I honestly dont know if that is even at all possible.

I never bothered looking into it, as i have no plans to sell the car anytime soon.
