jza70 help please,
i have owned the car for neally 2 years, hardely ever drive it,but in september last yera the 1J ran a bearing,so i sent it to the shop to get a full rebuild, heard back from the shop the crank is bent and the conrod is rooted,so i found some good second hand ones after a few month of looking,
now i got the motor back friday, got it in friday night, started it today and it dosnt went to run at all,its not the motor as it runs, but just only on 2 cylinders,it starts on 6 then drops down to 3 or sometimes 2 or 1,really got me stumped,it smokes really bad i mean really bad like over fuleing smoke,i have tryed a new igniter,no change, cleanded all the coil packs, plugs ect,
wanting to no if any one has had this befor?
does someone have a 1jzgte ECU i could try?
anything elce i can try?
thanks Brad

Could well be the ecu, can get it fixed though. I believe the best place is an electronics repair place in Nelson but they don't deal direct to the public so will have to go through an auto sparky etc.
Take the ecu out (behind the glovebox) and check all the electrolytic capacitors to see if any of them are leaking as it could be an easy fix.

I forgot about that. My RC pulled up an ignitor fault (code 14) when it was actually the ECU at fault. GOt it repaired through Gavin @ Hi Velocity (he sent it away for me)

another posibility is the wiring to the map sensor. mine has some rewiring done around it and sometimes it sounds like it's running on a couple of cylinders due to the wiring playing up.
have you checked for spark from the coilpacks? are they recieving voltage? also check earths around the ignitor.
