Undo the plug underneath, 24mm socket from memory,
Drain oil
Refit plug
Undo same size plug on side of box,
Fill with oil untill its jus coming out of the fill hole
Replace the plug

I prefer to replace the copper / aluminium sealing washers at the same time

undo the filler plug first, just to make sure you can do it with the tools you have. cant drive it to the shop without oil :D

Also, think about how you are going to get the oil back in. A suction gun may help.

You can also remove the gear stick and fill it up from there.

What about it? Obviously you don't pour it onto the gear stick due to it's remote location if that's what you're asking?

Maybe add a drive to the list to make sure sediment in the gear box is suspended in the oil so when you drain it it comes out with the oil :)

I've always filled the W's from in the cabin through the hole in the tunnel sans gear stick. Put the oil container in a hot bucket of water so it's easier/faster to pour into a funnel / hose.
Good to have someone keeping a eye on your bung hole on the side so they can give you a heads up when it's full.

Ive filled one on the ground and lifted it in, you get a bit of a leak from the rear spline, but if you're quick, you only get a few drips, all gravy.

Being a makr 2 (assuming its a JZX100 Mark 2), it will be a remote shift and im not sure you can pour the fluid in from inside the cabin?

Just run the hose to the filler hole and stuff it in :) Pouring from the cabin is the way to go, imo, go go gravity!
