Hey everyone, Ive always been keen to keep engine conversions manufacturer specific, but I want an old hearty carb V8 for my project. Something along the lines of a 350 chev/308 holden.
But they are not toyota, so does anyone know A: a fair price for a toyota 4V V8 B: how commonly available are they? C: are the parts for them readily available (bearings, rings, ignition parts etc)
Cheers
4V V8

Bit should be available in theory, good luck finding one though. Not exactly a common engine, price will depend entirely on who you find that actually has one and if they work out you really really want one.
Price availability of parts through aftermarket suppliers before you go engine hunting as that could decide if you get one in the end or not. If you do find one then it'll likely need a freshen up at the very least so you'll need to know you can get the bits at a reasonable price (if at all) first off.

email leon@oldschool.co.nz and he'll get your account sorted. There are a few on there... I even saw a 4V and a 5V on a trailer the other day.
How serious is your project? ... Because a nascar V8 would always be a good option if you want a guaranteed 850hp.

Grrrrrrr! wrote:1uz with carby conversion? Manifold must be easily available, many stockcars using them.
Yeh the stockcars also have a big ugly distributer coming out of the front from the cam from memory too tho.
Truenotch, I emailed him a few times, might try him again tho. The project is not that serious, would be dam nice to have a nascar v8 tho.
