itbs butterfly screws?

itbs butterfly screws?
I'm wanting to dismantle my itbs to get them blasted but I'm having trouble getting the screws out that hold the butterflys in. They are really soft and I can feel they want to strip. Any ideas on how I can get them out without damaging them?

Pretty sure that the screws have been pressed/knurled so they won't undo and go for a scenic through the engine.
Maybe leave them in place and clean around the plates as best you can.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
Damn I'm wanting to get it blasted and have to totally dismantle them I'm told. Seems too much of a mission now having to drill them out just for a clean.

I pulled mine to bits to clean/polish myself.
I found that using a dremel to grind off the end of the screw helped,as they have been knurled. GENTLY using an impact driver, would get them started if they were still being stubborn, tho most of mine were free after thr grinding.
Still havent worked out how to remove the bearings tho

I envy those with little interest in cars, for they have money and spare time.
I reely... reely... have a lot of difficulty understanding why someone
would be desperate to take apart something that the factory obviously
went to a lot of trouble to ensure stayed together securely for the life
of the part ?? Getting the ITB's "blasted" would have to offer a huge
performance advantage before I would risk taking those screws out !!

^ why so scared of a couple of screws?
only took me 10-15min to stip all 4 of mine down so I could clean out 15+yrs worth of crap, but then I got carried away and polished the bores to remove the casting marks, and port matched them to my intake plenum.
Reassembly is also straight forward.. put in new screws, turn it over and hit the ends of the screws with a punch. This will deform the screw thread so it can't undo... So easy you could get the Repco guy to do it for you while he changes you wiper blades

I originally had then painted black a few years ago and wanted a change. So I've stripped all the paint off but looks like 17 year old dirt stuck in the cast alloy .I've seen what they look like when sand blasted and didn't think it would be tougher than usual to dismantle. Vapour blasting sounds good I'll look into that.
