Re: Blade Double Din Mounting Bracket
Check catalogues at Ed's Autos http://www.edsauto.co.nz/pdfcatalogue.html
They are a supplier of mounting kits and accessories. Most local car audio shops are dealers for them, and you can deal with them direct as well.

Re: Mazda 6? Legacy? Other?
I bought a 2007 Subaru Legacy 3.0R wagon in October after going through similar questions myself. Chose the Subaru because:
- Reasonably modern and up to date. Mine is facelift with full leather interior and McIntosh 11 speaker premium system.
- 3.0 with timing chain. This version of the 3.0L boxer ...

Motor Trend Ignition used to be good with Carlos Lago (now moved to Edmunds). Jessie and her stuff wasn't too bad until she got hurt bad in the Audi R8 crash. Roadkill is always awesome!

Best thing to do is call and ask questions, or book the car in for an evaluation and let them provide options / next steps.

Re: Im looking for a good panel beater/painter in Wellington
How big are the rust repairs? I have talked with Sean @ Pacific Dent Removal with regards to a project I've just purchased which will need extensive rust repairs and like any job, an evaluation would need to be undertaken to establish if they can take on the job.

Recently had some prep/paint done at Pacific Dent removal down in Alicetown. Did a pretty decent job.

Re: Removing Rust from Cooling System (Block)
I used malt vinegar to remove rust from some small items. Wash off residue with water, dry then coat immediately with a primer of some sort.
Also, use washing up gloves to prevent skin contact with solution and some googles to prevent splashing into your eyes.

Yes. Dual 6.5" Image Dynamics CXS component set was used at the time. Made a lot of noise, but the pods were very intrusive with legs. Pods built out of fibreglass, mdf, hot glue and screws..

Re: Decent In Car Audio
Component speakers for cars are designed to work in free-air / open environments. Generally free-air design is actually large enclosure design, so applying that logic to a car door, we want to create a large enclosure which will allow the speaker to perform with more cone control, producing more ...

Driveshaft loop position
Good morning all,
Looking for a little guidance
Blue lines indicate position relative to the centre of the joint.
Is the loop acceptable in this position as the flat bar and reinforcement plate would be against flat metal vs contoured (can't distinguish from pic sorry) and we have to avoid ...

Re: Draining battery
In my experience sealed batteries need to be run regularly. Had exide orbitals and optimas fail because they are not in constant use. You may have to look at a float charger to keep the battery happy. Do you also have a large stereo system? They can also introduce a parasitic draw on batteries

Yes there is a current draw from after market alarm systems, so expect the battery to drain slowly over time, but it shouldn't be an issue of the car is left for a week or two without driving. And when i say driving, i'm talking about a good ...
