Re: Caldina GTT thump when coming off accelerator
Could be the rear diff mount, common on GT-Fours so probably also an issue on the GTT

Re: Bulk wire sourcing
Looks like you've made a solid effort to get it mapped out. What software did you use?
Looks like a slightly unusual connection on your starter solenoid? Are you using a transistor to drive it, and a relay to trigger the transistor?

Re: Bulk wire sourcing
honestly, if you're going to go to the effort of a signficant rewire it's not all that smart to use a bunch of different wire types that aren't designed for automotive use. The major issues tend to be around insulation temperature ratings and resistance to common automotive fluids. Although in the ...

Re: New Tow Vehicle Recommendations (Work)
Not sure about the servicing to be honest, you could probably just ask a VW dealer what they charge - it's probably a flat rate. I think the service interval is more like 30k on it though! I think it's only been serviced around 2 or 3 times since we got it (has a reminder that pops up on the dash ...

Re: New Tow Vehicle Recommendations (Work)
We have a VW Amarok at work and it's been bloody good. It's a turbo diesel (I think a 2L?) manual 4WD and has about 100,000km on. We regularly use it for towing up to probably 2.5T and it handles it well. When we got it a few years ago as an ex demo and it had around 30k on the clock and I was ...

Re: What type of tube to use for water hard lines?
Why stainless? I used 1.6mm aluminium tube for all mine; lighter, easier to bend, swage, cut etc.

Just out of curiosity, what would it cost to bring in something like this?

Re: New O2 and no go? ST215
Have you checked error codes? Biggest concern would be the possibility that the wires shorting has burned out the sensor supply in the ECU which is causing other sensors to not read correctly. The O2 sensor usually wouldn't prevent the engine running

Anyone with a guard roller?
Just wondering if anyone on here has a guard roller I can borrow? Fitted new guards to the MR2 and just want to roll them before I paint.
Alternatively - does anyone want to go halves/thirds/quarters on a guard roller? $145 on trademe

Re: Where is this located?
What's that diagram from? AW11s don't have a high/low fuel pump voltage system like the one shown in that image, so there is no fuel pump resistor (or fuel pump relay). As far as I know, such systems are mostly found on turbo cars, e.g. mr2 turbos and celica gtfours.

IIRC, these had a horrendous longitudinal engine/front wheel drive layout that made them a huge prick to work on

Re: LiFe Batteries for vehicles
if i thought the $400 shorai with the decent Cold cranking amps was cost prohibitive, could i get away with say a 210CCA model, if i was only using it for race days? (2500cc motor) It won't compromise the ECU or the ignition spark etc would it?
