The shift points are, as you would expect in a ecu controlled car, controlled by the ecu via the tps and map sensor etc. That cable is the AT line pressure control cable; the further the throttle is opened the higher the line pressure ...

Go 1uz

How original... yawn

Put a 1jz-gte in my Hiace van a year or two back (got the motor and trans from a group member) and never grow tired of blowing away 1uz powered utes and vans.... why piss around with a standard 1uz at 190kw odd when the equally standard 1jz-gte has 206 and more ...

Standard hiace manual gearbox behind high hp motor..?

Hi guys. Anyone had much to do with standard Hiace boxes behind 1UZs or JZ motors?
I have had a 2JZGE (auto) and now a 1JZGTE (auto) in my one for some time now. At the times of these conversions the parts required to keep the van manual were very dear (bellhousings, flywheels, etc) but now they ...

Sorry, you're right. It did seem a little harsh, it was only meant as light hearted humour. Sorry STRX7! Actually the more I study that pic the more it does look like an 8, it does look like a rocker cover on the other side. CF bedford motors were overhead cam with the dizzy on the front. They had a ...

I agree with the noisy old shitters causing all the trouble issue.. Here in Palmy there is a penis down the end of my cul de sac with a shitbox red KE70. He makes himself look like a homo as he has big 17in mags on the back and standard 13in steelieson the front(who does that???) but the problem is ...

Hiace crossmembers

Hi all.. Any Hiace experts here know if the crossmembers in a petrol Hiace (RZH***) are the same as a diesel one of the same era? (LH***) thanks in advance, Chris.

Yes thats the one mate. Its auto and with the 4.3 its got good pick up and ideal for the towing its going to do, but its revving a tad high at 100k. Either a 3.9 or 3.7 would be ideal prob the 3.9 as its still going to be doing heavy towing as opposed to high speed cruising.
