No offence to the mans mechanical experience, but just because he has worked as a mechanic for 14 years it dosent mean he dosent speak a load of crap (plenty of people out there who do). If he can back it up with a dyno chart or something thats kewl. If he cant, he probably just had a nice prepped ...

I agree with nzae86. That sort of power would require more than just come aggressive cams and some porting/polishing. You'd need to replace pistons, rods, crank blah blah blah. Just about everything except the head and the block!

Yeah, thats what I'm thinking. He said it cost him $6k to build his ...

Naturally Aspirated 270 hp like the Formula Atlantc NA 230hp (i think) is costly, but a turbo charger can do it.

Yeah I have no doubt that a turbo 4AGE could do those kind of numbers,I'm strictly talking about Naturally Aspirated.

Is it possible?Even if it is,I'm thinking the cams are going ...

Potential Of 4AGE 20V

Just a quick question. Was having a discussion with my boss today about 4AGE 20 valves, when he mentioned that he could build a 270hp @ the wheel 4AGE (He is a mechanic with around 12-14 years experience).

I think that 270HP out of a 1.6ltr NA engine is stretching it (and I've heard about the Group ...

VTNZ are bullshit.

I've had heaps of cars come in that have failed a warrant on one thing,go to check it and there are mutiple other things wrong with the car (i.e exhaust leaks, wheel bearings are f*cked, tie rod/rack ends stuffed).

OVAL are dodgy,I'd definitely stay away.

My boss's old integra was running a Blox manifold with rebuilt r32 skyline turbo, made 180kW @ the wheels @ 8psi.This was on a b18 b (1.8ltr DOHC non vtec),these motor's are alot better for turboing as they have a lower compression (9.6:1) from what I remember.

unless your going for every ounce of power, coating the fins and core wont make a lot of difference.

will make it look a lot better.

So if I paint my I/C black (so it can't be seen) it wont make it any less efficient?

My brother has just done this with his intercooler on his integra, just ...

F.B.I Performance do D2's for $1295 I think,and K-Sport for $1600.Dodsons do BC Coilovers for $1250.

Not sure if they have them in stock, but you could always ring and ask.

Nope, 6th generation Kiwi. BTW I believe the is only one "m" in the acronym "pom", so perchance you are referring to something other than my heritage???

I thought that 'pohm' was an acronym for 'prisoner of her majesty'?

Last year there were about 20-30 cars stolen from members on the NZHonda forums, including mine.Pretty sure thieves lurk on the Profiles section and just troll for cars they want or are ordered and hit them up.That shit is orchestrated.I'll never post up specific details of my car on the net again.
