On Gen 1 - 3 all you do is remove all the bolts and lift it straight off so I can't see how yours will be any different, you don't need to replace the gaskets but you probably should.

mate, i have removed many a rocker cover, and i have NEVER replaced a gasket, and never had leaks afterwards. Even 30 year old 3k's with factory seals, good as gold.

Just make sure you clean both sealing surfaces of oil with a rag before re-attachment, and bolts are done up securly.

piece of cake.

In the end its only a piece of rubber. You don't need to replace it but if you want a flawless 100% reliable () car relace it. There only about $10 from supercheap. Just keep the seal away from contact once its off i.e. don't rest it on the concrete like I did .
