Factory oil catch cans - why not?

In some applications, such as carbys the extra oil flowing around the inlet through the carbs side of things isnt always a bad thing.

How so? just wondering.. both my cars have carbys.. one has blowby - would be interesting to know.

i emptied my catch can again the other night, first time in 2 months. FULL (500ml) of water

anyone can show me the piping for oil catch can on blacktop 20v trueno/levin???

pretty easy.....
on my silvertop.....
out of cam cover at the gear box end --------- catch can.
out of cam cover at the intake side -------- catch can
this one is is where it goes from the cover into the intake, make sure you block off the intake pipe very well, you dont want an air leak there!
iv kept the pcv valve in place as it acts as an adaptor.
make sure you have all connections tight and leak free!

so basiclly all iv done is made any line coming out of the cam cover vent straight into a catch can.

ive heard of them but never really understood what they did....glad i read this i mite havto go out and invest in one!

but one thing in curious on...from factory the vapors are sucked back into the intake under vacume...so how do they migrate into the catch can?

theres pressure inside the engine, so any vapours get pushed out where ever they can.

try taking the oil cap off and placing your hand over the hole. give it a rev and youll feel the pressure

i wanna hear redmists opionon, is it best to have the line from the breathe or the pc?

filter on top or another line back to the manifold?

In the road testing stages of my 4AGE, it randomly blew the rear main oil seal outa the back of the motor. Only happened because I had the breather outlet on the rocker cover blocked up and then rear main was the weakest link

However was awfully sideways and not very environmentally friendly having a few hundred ml's of oil falling right in front of my rear wheels every few seconds.

that happened to us in last years rally chch, 1st stage oil all over the clutch

so you just redirect the pipes from the cam covers and the PCV valve into the catch can? sounds relatively easy..

just make SURE you block off all other pipes properly
