My speedo stopped working yesterday, (1990 NA SW20) I would imagine due to a snapped speedo cable.
Has anyone replaced this before?
Or alternatively, are there any other possible causes?
I would imagine it would be a PITA job to do, if it is the cable.
MR2 speedo cable = snapped?

Check the pin that comes off the speedo driven gear inside the gearbox, mine rounded off so didnt drive anymore
Cost like $18 for Toyota for a replacement.
I also have a new driven gear here if thats your problem
