considering they fold down and have a steel backing on them i would have to agree there would be a huge saving!

How do you launch the car? Tried a rev limiter launch? Its brutal but you have the trap speed for 12s; the only thing I can see holding you up is a slow 60ft or slow shifting.

Al (Twstd), what 60fts are you pulling for your 13.2s? And how are you launching? And what trap speeds? I know how it feels getting knocked out of the first round, first time I raced I was knocked out in the first round by Joe Kyle's skyline, and next time in the first round by an 11 second legacy  (they came first and second in that class that year)

Basically i give it about 4000-4500 rpm and dump the clutch. Heres some stats:

1st round run:

RT: 0.380
60': 1.860
1/8: 8.527 @ 132.24 kph
1/4: 13.278 @ 168.06

On a warm up run I got:

RT: 0.470
60': 2.043
1/8: 8.733 @ 133.74 kph
1/4: 13.484 @ 167.51

comments welcome :-)

You gotta cut your 1/8ths down. Even with a 2.0 60ft I can reel out a 8.2 second 1/8th.

you need to compare apples with apples - an mr2 is quite a bit different and difficult to compare to a heavier 4wd

anyway, to me one big thing that needs work looks like the 60 foots. You really need to cut them down into the 1.7's. For what it's worth I used to launch at higher revs than that (probably around 5,500), with a little wheel spin (nothing excessive) and my best 60ft was 1.74
do you feel like you get a lot of wheelspin off the line? how about on 2nd gear change? might also need to speed up your shifts

I think you're going to have to really get everything right to get into 12's with 168 traps.

Are you using the Launch RPM ignition cut feature of the EManage to build boost on the line, or the Ign cut feature to allow power shifting?

I thought this page was reasonably self explanatory.

Set the first box to lauch RPM, second on to max RPM, and third one to power shift max RPM, plus add a switch for power shift detection (on the clutch?).

Then set the throttle position above which Ignition cut will occur, add an ignition timing adjustment (retard the ignition to build boost and for a mild anti-lag effect), and select the number of pulses before launch control deactivates.

Thanks - I will look into this - the issue is i know nothing about what settings would be appropriate etc as ive never used a launch control of any sort before.
