Manifold change for ST185 GT4

Postby 4age_rage » Tue Dec 19, 2006 5:31 pm

Was just curious as to whether a 3SGE inlet manifold can be used on a 3SGTE because as far as i know the throttle body sits on the end of the manifold as opposed to the middle which would suit my frontmount setup much better. Any help would be great

Yes, as ive done the opposite by putting a 3sgte manifold onto a 3sge, just movest he inlet, but did in my case create issues with fitment of the TPS

in your case i dont know if that could cause issues under high boost say for number 1 getting less air for the mixture being the most far away inlet, Unlike the turbo setup where it goes in centrally? just a thought.

I think it may just be a case of experimenting, dont plan on running too higher boost, around 1 bar, time to look for a GE manifold i suppose , wouldn't happen to have one would you?

hes after a NA style inlet manifold, not a top mount based unit as the calindas and gt4s etc use.

caldina inlet manifold has the throttle body ideally placed if running front mount IC piping.......
