im actually doing this now with my silvertop havn't had any problems so far, ive heard maybe just the blacktop airbox plenum sealing it shut, for the air flow meter could be a problem with not much room there

blacktop itb's would need match porting its best to just find some facelift silvertop ones,or add a blacktop head when your there, and the blacktop plenum is a *^&^ to seal for the afm but can be done. intake cam is the only one that changes if your going to pull them out just get some mild billets
I use b/t plenium and trumpets on s/t thottles. I use b/t cams on s/t. cams are straight fit but I think b/t vvt pulley has locating pin in different place so timing marks will be off if used on s/t cam shaft.
