To answer my own question... It's possible, but a PITA because the OCR program is in Russian. Translation through Microsoft word or Google translate isn't too bad but it takes about 1-2 hours per page to get it right because the layout keeps stuffing up due to the diagrams and columns
It's not something I'd want to do for the whole manual, but it's ok for the few pages that I need at a time.

I think so. The auto translator gave it as "sensor of lateral movement". There are only two sensors that I know of that have anything to do with movement, one is the deceleration sensor the other is the yaw sensor.
Layout is a problem, it doesn't need to follow the same exact layout, but probably still needs the three columns. I guess we could just translate the text in one chunk and try and insert the pictures to give a reasonable layout.
