Your biggest problem with 11's will be the transmission. Supra auto's are not the best, not by a long shot.

if you ask aussies or drag racers, they don't seem to like them, but anyone else swears by them. got one in my mk3, fitting one to dads mk4, and will source one for the aristo when cash becomes available. there's a washer that fails in them, i'm not sure which one it is, but think matt dunn on here knows which.

for the mk4, try and find a remote shift one from a z30 or x90 or x100, as this will line up with your drive tunnel, where as the mk3 ones are rear mount, and don't sit far enough back, so need to cut the body. expect to pay more for the remote shift ones though.

should handle the power you're after easily enough, same as anything really, treat them well, and they'll work fine.

Check out 1JZ747, did a 10.17 using a (modified) A340e auto box.

The R154 has a problem with the 1st geat thrust washer if you start thrashing the box.

Take your stock one to an engineering workshop and get them to make one out of EN39B like gmcrae did, then get it hardened. Should take plenty of punishment.

Then again any clutch to hold 400wkw reliably is not joing to be enjoyable to drive!

My ACT MAXX Extreme from the US exploded on a 434KW run (drive straps on the pressure plate went). I would recommend twin or better if you plan on going past 400KW.

HKS twin plates are actually not too bad
couple of people i know have run them and they are reasonably smooth. quarter master and tiltons are the real bastards from what ive seen.

Twin plates tend to be nicer than multi puck button clutches actually.

Not in my experience.

My multi-puk button clutch drive and feels close to a road car clutch,
can drive it on and off the trailer etc etc easy as,

have never driven a car with a twin plate that would drive like that and last for any lenght of time.
Drive a race car with a twin plate on and off the trailer for a season and the clutch may not last the season.

Hmm, true...I've not spent that long with multiplate clutches, so dunno what the long term would be like. In my experience with 3 puck clutches though, they're a damn sight nastier than a twin plate.

They're not that bad. Just carparks and reversing uphill is best avoided.
