Starlet KP61 Track width

Postby philk » Sun Oct 19, 2008 6:59 pm

I'm needing to put a new diff in the starlet,
Wanting something that is about 60mm wider than a standard Starlet diff, A mate runs a EX Lancer diff in his which is about 60mm wider.
Problem is sourcing one of those diffs. Anyone else got any ideas of what I could use? On a budget and not worried about LSD as long as it's 4x114.3 or 5x114.3
Also looking to widen the front track by about the same 40mm, want to know what the best front suspension setup would be and not to expensive
Cheers

i used a corona diff(t series) which is about 100mm wider total, so 50mm each side. you can get away with it if you use front wheel drive offset wheels like +35 or more.

i am running 15x7 +8 so i had to go with big flares:

i also run gx60 struts in the front but thats alot of f&*king around and i would not recommend it.[/img]

Thats exactly what I'm after. :)
I'm running the wide body kit and very wide wheels.
Have you got any more details on what I would have to do?
What are those struts out of?
I'm prepared for a bit of stuffing around with it.

does the sigma lower arm trick as used in ae86's and ke70's in australia work on starships?
When in doubt, down and out.

Not to sure, I have put an ex lancer 8 bolt non lsd disc brake rear end in at the moment, this has been borrowed from a mate, has made the track 60mm wider, that's the min I need could go 70mm wider

nah the starlet has a funny front arm.

here vs the gx60 one:

the starlet has no separate radius rod, the swaybar doubles as a swaybar and radius rod.
