I've tried it on the dyno and saw about a 5% power drop using the same timing map.
One really good thing about it is knock resistance. Your stock ECU should up the timing and make use of it, giving you more power. To make best use of this reset your ECU and try and stick to it as a fuel.

i have also cranked the ignition timing to the point where it starts pinking at low revs high load, but OMG did it go hard. since retarded the timing a bit. but it LOVES advanced ignition timing, nowhere near as impressive now

Cranked as in what did you have it set to? I chucked some more timing into my BZ-G and it seemed to go better, but never confirmed properly.
Seen a few times on TS, that Blacktops go best with about 8 degrees advance, as opposed to the factory 10 degrees, as it pulls timing out of it. It's something I might check on the dyno once I get the motor in.
