Where to find crimps for engine looms?

Im doing an engine conversion and need to join a few wires in the loom.
I want to crimp the wires as soldering doesnt seem like the best idea (especially on the thick starter wires).

Does anyone know of anywhere that sells the crimps as used in the factory toyota looms? They look like then end of an uninsulated crimp. I think theyre called a 'roll-in' type crimp?

Tried Narva and utilux but cant find anything.

i got a few big terminal type ones from repco the other day (ie the terminal that bolts onto the starter)

they might have some for joining too

if you want big un insulated crimps try your local electrical wholesale, they will have a good selection but you may need something better than a pair of pliers or those ones you use on the red, blue and yellow crimps.

I just use uninsulated spade terminals and cut off the spade end, you do need to use a proper crimper to close up the crimps tho.

Yea those are the ones. Ive got a cheap utilux 'roll-in' crimper like pictured, just cant find the crimps.

Cutting the end off should work for the sensors etc, but need something bigger for the power wires and starter wire.

Most Auto-electrical workshops should carry some. You need to use proper crimpers for them - they look like bolt cutters - or you could just run a new cable for the starter? (this would be the best option)

i have proper crimpers from the uK,

where to buy in bulk tho, im not buying 50 packs of 5or 10 and getting screwed cause you cant buy in bulk,

any ideas? sorry for hijacking

Then perhaps you can explain why most mil-specs specify crimp only for unsupported connections, and why the Toyota repair document in the link above only specifies crimping for repairs???

I say crimp it with a longish crimp and put a solder down the middle.

And I thought the same, but I found a solder join (there maybe be more)in the loom of an AE111.

interesting as I have pulled a few loom to bits lately and they have all had crimps in them.
