Ive had problems with them slipping from out of the box as well & they didnt want a bar of it so cut my losses and wont be buying another one ever again.

They're saying they tested it and it is holding pressure as it should. I might take it somewhere else along with my old pressure plate and get the both tested

in my experience and everyone I know exedy never had a problem. extreme clutchs on the other hand.........

Ive used a few Exedy clutchs now and ive never had a problem

I think their way of testing it is pushing the springs down with their thumbs and then gives it the green light.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

Well, they do have a pressure tester, and it came out the same with my new one as my old one. They said that they think there has been some preload on the bearing causing it to slip, which is bullshit, as you can easily move the fork with your finger and feel it make contact with the diaphragm of the pressure plate.

They said "Hey, we'll give you another one, but it'll do exactly the same thing". Told my mechanic that and he said "Yep, gettit. It'll be fixed tomorrow.".

Can you please take a pic or Measurement of the disk & clutch to see the disk thickness and the distance from the flywheel to the pressure plate?

Stepped flywheel with a different level between the friction surface and the pressure plate mount? A rule of thumb is that the distance between the PP's surface and the flywheel should be 1/2 the thickness of the disk.

I've already said that its not a stepped surface, its flush :P and I don't have the gear with me, so can't measure it. Clutch plate was about 7.8mm or something though

never mind we have figured it out , does anyone have a 5 bolt nose cone that sits overtop of the shaft and semi holds the bellhousing to the box ?

Have found one, wrecker is connecting mechanic to confirm that the part number is right. Should be, fingers crossed

If it was the bearing retainer tube that is too long & has been keeping it slightly disengaged, I think that the PP's fingers would have been pretty chewed up & nasty looking the first time you removed it. Were they?

also depends how long ago they welded it and whether they machined the bearing down to suit or not , our last option is to machine the snout , very last option .
