best cv boots?

Im after opinions on what cv boots to buy. last time i got some from bnt but after a week they had split again.

the cars quite low so im guessing that might have something to do with them splitting.

i remember hearing the toyota ones are pretty good, can some one confirm this please.

i need both inner and outer
the faster u go, the quicker u get there

Yeah Toyota ones are good.
What brand were the BNT ones? They used to be good.

id just get genuine ones if they arent too expensive. that way you know they will fit properly.

Genuine are the best ones ;).
As for the brands the Silverline or whatever repco sells comes in "pre cracked" condition.

To help them survive I have a little trick that helps.
Well def helps esp if your racing the car and it wont cost you anything!

If it's the trick I'm thinking I saw Barry post ages ago, he puts a split pin between the cv boot and the axle to allow them to vent. Not sure if he's fine tuned what exactly he does?

Yes thats what I think it is. I actually install a split pin under neath the boot before I clamp it on. To re leave some pressure on the inside. Def helps alot.

hey,

I put a 3mm thick split pin under where the cv boot seals onto the shaft.
Zip tied that down where it sticks out, then put the cv clamp over the boot which also holds the split pin in place.

This allows the cv to breathe better! and no grease comes out there at all.

thanks for that tip i'm going to try it now! i'm forever having CV grease coming out everywhere with both my car and dads ae82 it gets pretty annoying having all the suspension/wheels covered in grease :roll:
