Bootlid not popping

Just went outside and fiddled with it, put the key in, turned it all the way to the left, pulled lever, nothing. turned it straight, pulled lever, nothing. turned key all the way to right, again, nothing.


Did this jsut to make sure I wasn't missing anything super obvious.. Is there some super secret lever that I wasn't told about?

Oh, and this is also with the secondary key. One for ignition and boot. The main one is with my brother at the moment.

nope, can get in and out of glovebox with it, turn car on, lock doors etc etc.. boot is another story.

Any rubber bungs in the underside of the boot that you could remove and get a pipe through to try and shift the wheels?

Good idea. Hopefully the cardboard and carpet and sxxt doesn't get in the way.. Will try it tomorrow and post results.

Flew over a speedbump, nothing. Jacked it up super high, nothing. Tried moving wheels with a metal rod through the bottom of boot, nothing. Tried both keys, only one fits properly.. I don't know anymore.


When the time comes, I might just buy a new boot, and tear this one up. ha.

take it to a dodgy neighbourhood and put word out that there are some mint wheels inside? sure someone will be able to practise their skills...

not too sure about your car but nissans have a small locking tab just below the catch on the car in the boot but you would have to some how get into the back, a cefiro i had done that they have a tiny little port hole in the back seats used a umbrella to unlock it dumb ass idea other than that go see the local fire brigade and get them to use their jaws to pop it haha fun times...

Could try calling a locksmith out after explaing the issue over the phone, some have some very sneaky tricks. Could be cheaper and less hassle than tearing the boot up.

Currently got the rear seats out and can just see the inside of.the boot over the tank, still pretty stumped on what is wrong.. moved the wheels around and they don't seem to be getting.caught on anything..


Could it be an electrical fuse, a hidden lock, a ... something... because everything mechanical looks fine. The lever pulls fine, it pulls the cable, and you can hear it pulling the boot latch, but the boot just won't come up.

I think that will be second to last resort. I could just be something super obvious.. I don't know.

have some one push down on the boot applying pressure while you pull the latch ie 2 person job if you feel everything is connected... maybe it is sitting in a compramised position had similar on my camry

yeah, tried this a few times, along with pulling pushing sitting ... left both me and my dad staring at it thinking wtf along with many other people. No one seems to know what it is. Everything is working, but it's not working.

And you only need to use a screwdriver pushing down on the mechanism to lock it see how it all works.

Have the local locksmith coming to look at it. fingers crossed. Sorry for this this thread. Bit useless with no real conclusion to it .. a whole two pages already. Ha.
