3SGTE CT26 CT20b Exhaust housing

Post by loudstealthGT-Four »

Just wondering if there are any difference between the CT26 and the CT20b exhaust housing on a 3SGTE.

As I am planning on increasing the size of the factory wastegate ports, have three spare CT26's in the garage that i can use the exhaust housing off, if they'll work?

different, ct20b exhaust side is alot better for spooling, i think the exhaust wheel is slightly smaller, and the housing flows better through the wastegate ports

Ct20b has a smaller exducer on the turbine. To fit the 26 turbine housing on a 20 you would have to add metal and reshape the housing to suit the 20 turbine wheel profile

You can swap the housings over if you use the turbine wheel to match the housing but then you don't have a ct20b anymore

weld up internal gate and use external wastegate, never have boost creep again.

Had considered that, but with the cost of welding an external to the factory cast manifold properly, which was about $250-300 and then the cost of a new wastegate, it just wasn't worth it to me.
