Because they are far newer than normal GTE coils, less likely to be cracked/faulty, and they output lightening bolts like a boss :)

And because I got them for a great price too ;)

Finished getting Corolla ready for road and track tomorrow. Oil changed and 15's fitted up.... was hoping to get a decent timed dry day, guess not. Rain looks to be pretty set in, doubt it'll lift before tomorrow.

Random question: Does anyone know what club was holding a gymkhana at Ellerslie Racecourse today (Car Fair area)? There was a few Lotus 7s, Lotus Elise, AE86 Trueno lift-back (tidiest you'll ever see in your life), R33, Onevia S13, a few MX-5s (one with an 8 or 9-year-old driving) + more

Got the car back together, filled the fluids and started the engine........huge fluid leak from the front of the transmission. Stink!!! Looks like it is all coming out again.

Bolted on the modified fuel rail, turned the key and watched a nice fine mist of petrol spray across the head from a pinhole leak in the brazed up fitting. Decided that I wasn't in the mood for playing firefighter and turned it off.
Went car shopping instead and wasted an afternoon asking sales plebs what have you go in manual that has got a bit of go.
Reality: A nasty hallucination that is caused by excess blood in the alcohol stream.

Ripped the dump pipe out, pain in the ass! Cut the top flange off, then reinstalled everything with a loose flange. Now need to weld the flange back on now its sitting right. Also started make a pattern for the cold air box.

Is this a new problem Scott, or the same fitment issue you discovered when you first installed the new manifold/dump?

On that note, I forgot to ask how you get on when you sent it back to be altered. Did he sort it all out for you with no more added costs etc?

Im going to be buying a new manifold next year so keen to hear what the after sale service has been like.

Yea, got done at no extra cost. Think one of the vbands may have been loose when we fabed up the w/g return hence things not sitting 100%. Tryed fixing it with ali gaskets, but they all but disintergrated on my road trip.If I did it again Id buy the manifold off Mike then get some one local to do the dump and w/g.
Next on the fix list is coolant lines and radiator.

Purchased a new one and drove it from the bottom of south island back to Auckland.

When the guy says "freshly repainted wheels" (and you can see the overspray on the dirt inside the rim he didn't bother to clean) its code for the front calipers are leaking brake juice. Which I found out gassing up in Taumuranui.

Hopefully got some good timelaspe stuff

Oh yep, a GT4. The owner had to check how much boost it ran after I asked him (It has a cut and bent ST215 heat shield and I was fearing the worst). He (a mechanic) had to check, and replied 3 days later(RED FLAG)saying 12psi, seems legit. After picking it up I noticed the gauge (that read in bar) was only reading .7(~10psi), Fcuk. Got to timaru and stopped for the night - gauge was reading a whole lot of vacuum when engine off, eg stuffed. So its is prob ok, apart from the missing downpipe bolts(no leak) and about a zillion other things.
