It would be logical to expect that if you go for a warrant with a air bag steering wheel with no bag in it,
that it would fail, Well maybe, if there are no other protection system markings present (and theres not) and they assess the car as "non airbag" then the steering wheel shouldn't matter. But hey hind sight is always 20/20
but if you went with a steering wheel that never had an airbag it would have probably passed, Agreed - wouldn't be an issue - but haven't got one and he whipped it in on New Years Eve
as apart from the sunvisor how else does the warrant guy know if it has one or not?

Some modifications are permitted, but they must always be LVV certified. The only modifications permitted are:
1. fitting a switch to render an airbag temporarily inoperable, and
2. the removal or permanent deactivation of an airbag in a vehicle that:
is at least 14 years old, or
has been adapted for a person with a disability, or
has been extensively modified for motorsport use.

Grrrrrrr! wrote:You mean you found a guy that doesn't know the rules and it was a non-event. The rules are pretty clear, removal of airbags always requires a LVV cert, unless done for law enforcement or emergency services vehicles. Of course that doesn't apply if the car didn't have airbags when it left the factory.Note 2
