The process involved including
1.Install the Knock sensor
2.Swipe your EFTPOS card for $200
3.Print you a receipts
4.Say thank you and wish you never come back for any warranty issues..
Not all that easy really, have you ever looked to see where the thing is located??? Sure, $200 is on the steep side, but at least it gives you peace of mind that if they crack the block from over-tightening it(Knock sensor has tapered thread), it's up to them to fix it.
I'd assume that price also includes the new intake manifold gasket.

Well, if you hadn't already guessed, the inlet manny has to come off, which means every vac line, etc attached to it, new sensor has to go in, with a thread locking compound, torqued up, and as already mentioned - being careful not to crack the block, and then re-assembly.
It's a simple job, just lengthy, and not without risk.
Oh, wait,I've basically just repeated my first post but in twice as many words, would you like step by step pictures, or are you taking a poly course in pointless criticism?

it takes me 15 minutes to change my knock sensor,
15 minutes $200..........wow!!
i'l do it for $150!!!
all u need is a 27mm socket thats deep reach.
then unclip th plug and pull it out, u might need someone to pull onthe wire while u push th elittle clip thing that holds it on.
then get the socket with an extension and go for it.
make sure u do it when eng is cold!! or u burn your self real bad

27mm socket thats semi deep reach, with the right size extension to bring it near the fire wall and still beable to get the rachet in.
next bit is tricky, u have to take the plug off the knock sensor by putting your hands down by the underside of the inlet manifold (very tight area) and push on the clip that holds it on,
then get someone to pull on the wire so it will then pop off, its hard to pull it off your self cos there is no space.
or u could use a screwdriver to push the tab down and then pull on the wire your self, this should slide out quite nicely.
then get your socket and put it on the knock sensor with the extension, and take it out.
putting it back on can be a pain, u can either try get it started with your fingers, or put the new knock sensor in the socket and put it on like this, why its hard using the socket is cos u cant align it straight with all shit in the way, so just have a play with it.
once its in push the plug back on.
I think toyota takes off the inlet manifold to make it easier thats where all the labour is.
so for this info that will be $40, u can deposit money into my account and send a cheque, either is fine.

none not really, the sc is on the drivers side, the knock sensor is on the passengers side of the block. it's basically the same to get both knock sensors out.
