Re: DIY re-spray, what is needed?
Yup, I have sprayed cars in garage at home that a professional painter was impressed with
Not a flash setup just an electric 12cfm compressor
top fed spray gun
car raised on axle stands, and wet floor beneath to minimize dust
I had done a lot a panel work, so had prepped with da sander and a used ...

Re: Exhaust welding worksmanship
Holy $$%, get your money.. all of it and run.
If i was to do it, that sort of money would get you stainless mandrel bends, tig welded with good quality mufflers and most likely a bit of change

Re: Installing piston rings?
Chrome and chromoly are different,
Generally each ring is a slightly different shape and thickness so will only go in one position.

Re: How to clean engine parts covered with black burnt on oi
Go to a welding shop and get some aluminium acid, works great brush it on for 10-15mins and wash off in water with a dish brush or scotch brite
Tergo do a product called carbon off, We run it in one of our acid tanks, iirc $150 for 20litres

Another fine example of ripco pricing..
Wanted a front main seal and rear main seal for the weekend, so headed over to STA parts. They sorted me out for the front main seal for <$6, but didn't have the rear main in stock. Tried repco on the way home.. None in stock, but could pickup from Mt Welly ...

I wouldn't attempt to weld the core, more than happy to block the rows up and weld the header plates

Re: Radiator Repair?
Na your not going to get the core welded,
1 easily
2 nicely it's horrible to weld, can't get it clean enough
You can remove those rows and weld them shut at the top and bottom header plates
Or go see Adrian at fenix and get a new one
Have known guys to clamp the damaged cores and crimp with ...

Re: thread tape on turbo fittings?
On the water feed pipes it will be ok, or you could use loctite Teflon pipe sealant
Edit, are you sure you have te right fittings? I haven't come across any turbos that use bsp or npt pipe fittings into the core for water lines, usually metric banjo type bolts and use sealing washers

Im a big fan of tandem trailers, seen a couple of hot rods written off when tyre blowouts have happened on single axle trailers,
Definitely sprung
Im building a transporter at the moment, 4500x 2050 deck size, tandem with tilting deck, width will be right on legal limit once guards etc are fitted
