is it the original belt? possible the last person got it wrong.
are you sure its at TDC? i feel like there should be a corresponding mark somewhere for that one on the crank pulley, though i havent done a 3S belt in a long time. if you turned it back a fraction it looks like the cam sprocket marks ...

Re: 2011 Corolla Reliability
i have regular dealings with autosure.
my understanding is that euro drivers are heavily subsidised by those in japanese cars.
this is obviously a sweeping generalisation, and as you have noted - any car can be a bucket of poo for no obvious reason.

Re: TGP Japan Oil Filters
i seem to recall an issue with TGP and ryco both leaking from seams a few years back - maybe he got an older filter?
you'd like to think stock still on shelves in the affected range would have been recalled though...

Re: altezza etsc fuse blows? Doesn't start?
whats the leak? (ie what kind of fluid) if its coming out from between the engine and the bellhousing it could be the rear main seal, or it could be something leaking onto the bellhousing from above and running through it. or it could be the front seal on the gearbox input shaft.
plenty of options ...
