I have read touge_101 build page.
What I do have to question is kW readings on a dyno. I post 1/4 mile times as its a little harder to fake.
Not everyone drag race, but touge_101's car is VERY fast and he is a very smart lad - he won't be faking numbers, just looking for gains.
Why do you ...

Have a look at Mark's thread... 70mm SQ Engineering throttles in a modified stock plenum, seems to work well

THREAD RESURRECTION!
I've been generally pondering on VVTI related topics and remembered this topic from years back but had nothing to add to it - though for some reason I thought I had discussed at the time, unless you brought this up elsewhere?!
Anyway, thanks again for sharing If you are ...

The 350z is still a work in progress going from what Kevin said on FB. Busy with their business lately I believe. Engines need further development?
It's gone well past the point that I'm expecting to see that any time but it would be cool to see. It's a real shame it didn't come out sometime near ...

Yeah, very impressive - they've put a billet block in there since and done more 5.7 and 5.8s so it's clearly psuhed it to the limit, but still incredibly impressive out of the old block even if it was probably strengthened to hell.

New Import world record - EKanoo/Titan Toyota GT86
Last night, 5.77 @ 399kph!!!!! This is also looking like the quickest 1/4 mile time run by ANY drag car using an engine originally from a production car - it's still using the Toyota 2JZGTE head and block

Bringing this up from the dead - even though it's still one of the top threads in here
I had been looking for a replacement daily for ages and finally settled on a Mazda of all things. I've had it for a few days and absolutely love it, it's a brilliant all arounder and actually fair goes like ...

Wow, that sucks but very recognizable - I will put some word out among people who may end up having to deal with one of these ECUs as this is the first time I've even heard of one being used in NZ, much less Welly.

Re: Tricking a 4age 20v silvertop ECU
On the topic of open versus closed plenum, in the interests of the science of speed me and a couple of mates got together with the intention of trying a few different things out some things on one of their cars - a mildly tinkered with black top 20v 4AGE. The intent was to try a couple of different ...

Re: Helmholtz resonator exhaust chambers
Keep us up to date on how you get on. If you're getting that into it, it probably wouldn't hurt considering the temperature you expect the exhaust gases at the chamber to be and estimate your speed of sound based off that. 340.3m/s assumes speed of sound at 15c through air, the composition of gases ...

I think what we all have to keep in mind is all this talk is only in theoretical Wonderland. In reality by doing the basics right and making everything work together some really good results can be reached without much effort.

Re: 4AGE 20V Performance - What have you got?
lith you may be best qualified to answer this question... In a modern ish efi engine, does tumble vs swirl actually make a difference or is the tunability of cam timing and ignition timing good enough to compensate for any side effects? How many modern engines actually worry about tumble vs swirl ...

Has anyone any experience with Troys Mechanical in Paraparaumu ?

Re: what's limiting my power?
Ahh bugger - though that could totally explain some things. If that's the case, it's probably going to be a fair bit happier beast - especially if the valves weren't actuating properly. Look forward to seeing how the new incarnation comes out

Re: Turbo suggestions for TD42 diesel
Plenty of RB conversions around to keep your gears in check
My gears aren't really that sensitive
EDIT: I did look into the VET idea but the cost of building one versus bolt on's for a 1JZ just doesn't fit the budget.
You can start with an SR20 though, and work up - getting to the SR point ...
