It may not have one as with e-throttle they can just use that.

Re: The Great 4AGE Hand Grenade Debate

Running on Avgas or similar may help too. Maybe an ethanol blend, but would take a bit of figuring out the Eth %,
as too much Eth% and the fuel required goes up, which on the standard ECU wont be adjustable.

Have you adjusted the fuel mixture under load by playing with the AFM spring settings ...

Re: Bad miss under acceleration 2002 corolla

Plug gap.
Got a BA Falcon that had the same issue. Stutter when cold, got better when hot. Guy replaced coils and was still there.

Gap was 1.7mm!

Thats a common issue on the Falcons, as the factory gap on them in either 1.3 or 1.5mm from memory,
and the coils have a weak arse spark anyway.
We ...

Re: Bad miss under acceleration 2002 corolla

Going from your explanation it really sounds like a failing coil.
They are hard to tell which one though.

Sometimes it is just as easy to get one, fit it to cyl 1 and try it.
If not fixed try cyl 2, then 3 then 4 etc.

OR see if there is a fault code in the system,
possibly not though from a coil ...

Re: When do you draw the line with your car? (Daily driver)

We have a 2005 Fielder Z with the 2zz and 6 speed, Basically a Runx wagon, before that we had a BZT Carib Wagon.

We had the Carib for 10 years, and will probably have the Fielder for the same, have had it 7 years so far.

I reckon that for a daily driver road car, if you buy a decent car that you ...

Re: Bulk wire sourcing

Why not just go to the local auto electrian and buy what you want? Surely they sell it in different colours and sizes?
I know we do. There is not an endless amount of colours in all the sizes, but quite a decent range.

Otherwise go and pull some looms out of some cars at pick a part or something ...

Re: Cranking voltage drop

Yes first thing to check is the actual battery voltage while cranking.

It happens even on standard Toyota's at work sometimes,
the starter motors are so good on them that they will crank fine with a buggered battery,
but not enough voltage to run the ECU.
Usually you can tell as the car will ...

Re: Hiace Diesel Injector Issue!!

They will be replacing the injectors the seat seals? and the injector pipes ,
and probably using genuine injectors.

The injectors are not serviceable, only replacable,
we have done a set in one of our vans,
and can be done for less than that,'
but probably not at a Toyota Dealership

You would possibly find that if you free up the exhaust you may not be able to keep the boost standard,
as the extra flow will raise the boost.

Re: 1JZ running hot on track, IC blocking radiator?

Temp gauge road driving shows about 92C
Electric fans come on about 90C as best I can tell

The radiator fans should not need to be on under normal road driving,
as the airflow should be enough to keep it cool.
Fans should only be needed when stationary or going slow,
at speed fans are a ...

If you work the lock/unlock switch on the door you may hear the module click under the dash, or some of them it is inside the window master switch.
Possibly a purple and white wire?

You need to disconnect the speed signal wire from the central locking ECU.

Re: Reverse camera & steering wheel wire help

you will need an external voltage reducer as the camera's on toyota's run on 6 volts from the headunit,
12 volts is not good for them.

Easiest way is to have the original headunit working in reverse with the picture on the display
and unplug cables to see which ones stop the camera.

We have done ...

Re: Injector wiring

I have seen inside some toyota ECU's where #10 and #20 are actually linked inside the ecu too.

Was probably an early 4age ECU as I have not had many other ones apart.

Also if you remove the heatshrink and there is solder there,
it is not factory, as all factory joins will be crimped only.
