Panda paintjob

hey guys.
looking at getting my carina painted in a ae86 panda scheme, and i need a good selection of profile shots to show to my panelbeater.

anybody got any good front/back/side/ photos which might help distinguish the layout to this guy?

thanx

make sure you match the correct sensor with the right prong configuration. These prongs are interchangable but if you mismatch you will know about it.

i vote go with a 6cyl turbo motor

carinas are pretty chunky little hatches and little 1600 4agers struggle to get those thighs in motion

for all the trouble of a conversion your better off with a big stonking motor more than capable of getting up and going.

too keep it toyota though your ...

yeap they will go together no probs. But if your front cover starts leaking in future must replace with another FWD unit.

the rwd front are differnt and stick out further due to the viscous fan

Mmm, Boost wrote:I personally wouldnt go with Powerbuilt ratchets, just cause all the mechanics seem to smash them all the time, or the circlip holding the selector lever always seems to fall out. I guess they'd be fine for home use.

my powerbuilt ratchet has survived everyday use in the trade for 2 years

check for power at the pump on cranking and check voltage drop
check for fuel behind the filter while cranking

fuel pump relay should be in the engine bay

cap/rotor/leads/plugs?

mite also be a dinky tps. mines also suspicious i give it a tap with the screwdriver for minor adjustment sometimes clears it up (not recommended)

check basics first, could be incorrect/faulty plugs? lead? cracked cap?

it will loosen over time.

'prying the tensioner' doesnt mean reaming it right tight to the point of snappage.

there is a fine line between too tight and too loose as i have found. After a few cambelts you get the feel of it. I too have had pulleys whine at me and it sux

but if you feel the ...

Meh looks too loose in the pic, but you can also do to tight.

Ive often found the spring tension alone is not enough to nip it up so ill pry the tensioner till im satisfyed. Rotate once and check deflection on the longest side

Just have to go by feel and trust yourself. Firm but not tight. If ...

mag wheel spacing

Hey how can i space my mags out 5mm from the hub and still retain load on the spigot?

do not need longer studs as i currently have 5mm multifit spacers on but they are dodgy and illeeegal coz the the wheels dont locate!

Bolt on adapters seem overkill since I only need 5mm clearence, is there ...

the above is all correct, but also bear in mind that as the clutch wears, the arm will move back towards the slave, so that if your pushrod fitted ok to start with, as the clutch wears it will get closer and closer to bottoming out.
Just make sure you can still move the arm back off the pressure ...

In a hydraulic setup pushrod length will not provoke any movement in the clutch until the slave cylinder is 'bottomed out' in the bore. If you still have backwards movement in the cylinder then it shouldnt be causing a problem.

If the pushrod is acting on the fork then it would of been a ...

Cold start injectors operate when cranking and when the water temp is below 35 degrees, thats what the brown water sensor is for.

No they only operate on cranking. Yes the brown sensor is a time control switch but only prevents injector pulsing on hot cranking compared to cold.

it is a cold ...
