mine squeelled when i went over bumps.
look under the car for those elbow bits i circled - mine were leaking quite bad, you couldn't miss them

i think the left ones need doing as well. went for a WOF and they picked up the play in the left side...

it was the middle joint in the longer lower ...

the older powerplant ones were OK, i had a basic 2-ch... model FP-402
good build for the price, about $100-150 new. never overheated in the two years i had it

the encounter series used the FE-402 nomenclature for the equivalent powerplant models (which were later done away with)

Finally got around to replacing the lower arm tonight... the original one was totally seized on - took many hits to get it off.

Both ball joints in it were totally stuffed, leaking grease everywhere, you could move it with your finger

No more squeeking noise! what a relief after almost 3-4 ...

the AE111 differ slightly, it's attached to the actual coil assembly that the seatbelt retracts to.

i'm impressed a quick 5 min fix, i popped the side panel and unpluged the sensor, the dash indicator stopped flashing immediately - the sensor must short both pins when inactive so i suspect it ...

if thats the case, i suspect the sensor was always faulty... as it didn't illuminate when i had the seatbelt off

i'll have to pull it out anyway - i'll have a play around when i do and see if grounding the sensor cable cancels the flashing - the hard pull had no effect

The Valvoline VR1 is available from any Repco and Supercheap store, in fact the whole Valvoline range is... My mates all use it in their Subies (as they take 4.5L of oil)

i noticed mine used a bit as well in the 6 months between servicing. not sure how much, but not 4L - probably more like 0.5-1L

about a month ago, my oil pressure light was flashing... my mate suggested putting in lucas (same as moreys), an engine oil stabilizer. i think it has similar properties ...

i've been meaning to pull off the side cover and fix the twist in the seatbelt so will check for side tensioner sensors (if any).

it is strange that up until now i've never even noticed the seatbelt indicator illuminate (even with the seatbelt off). the indicator is just below the handbrake one ...

Changed the little piece over tonight relatively easy (using only a jack, some spanners and a few other tools)

Found out also it is the lower arm that the small piece (above in red) fits onto that's causing the sqeeking sound. so i suspect the ball joints in that are also on their way... anyone ...

the seat is held in place by the usual 4 bolts. its bolted to the seat. there appears to be no other connections from the seat itself

some cars have the 2 wire plug under the seat, but it's pretty obvious

the seat belt contact must be to ground then, but that doesn't make sense - there should be a floating connector or at least a wire of some sort. nothing is evident from removing the seat

i found it strange as in previous car with full loading the battery charge would sit between the 13.8-14.2V ...

i pulled the driver's seat out. no plug or connection present for the seatbelt sensor - i've never noticed the indicator in the dash come up before.

there is a small black box under the drivers seat though held in place by velcro strap. looks factory, wonder what that's for...

anyway i ...

Flashing seatbelt indicator

Not sure if this has been covered (a search didn't return any results).

The seatbelt indicator starting flashing in my AE111 BZ-R levin yesterday morning (after it had been frosted over). Possibly a bad sensor somewhere....

The flash is a constant on/off pattern - could it be some sort of ...

One thing to note is that not all stereo's support the auto-dimmer facility despite the orange wire being present in the loom...

A lot of modern (late 90's-) toyotas use the one piece riveted speaker/spacer design from molded plastic (cheaper). Some 25mm MDF and a jigsaw is useful for making ...

Ditto. Had one in my old GT-4, 520CCA 13 plate from memory. Never had any issues with it. I ran two amps a smaller 60Wx2 for the fronts and a 350W monoblock for the sub.

After having my BZ-R for about 6 months i finally got around to installing the amp under the passenger seat. I used the grommet that the A/C piping feeds into the cabin - it is a bit tight for 4 gauge wire, but since i was only fitting a small 4-ch and using about 3m of cable 8 gauge was sufficient ...
